Laetor's Ladder 2.0 was designed and built for Ephemerisle 2016. Ephemerisle
is a TAZ in the Sacramento River Delta. Due to the unique attributes of the
event (nothing is on solid ground), the installation had to be designed to
float. Improvements were done on the ladder itself, but most engineering and
design time was spent on the water obstacle. The ladder itself was floated on
eight beer-kegs with two outriggers to balance any side-to-side motion. An
attached platform for the participants was created using a four foot by eight
foot dock-float covered in grippy paint.
Big thanks to Sean Faul for the red-sharpie treatment on the top block. Big
thanks to Shanee for the dock-float. Big thanks to Backbone for transport to
the barge. Big thanks to Verbal for doing much of the wet-work. Thanks to the
many people at Ephemerisle who helped with the installation.
